how it works

Three steps. Local processing.

No account to create with us. No inbox to upload. Your Mac connects directly to your email provider and the unsubscribe destinations you choose.

Connect your inbox

Connect Gmail or Outlook in your browser, or add Yahoo with an app password. Credentials are saved locally and used with the corresponding provider.

Scan for subscriptions

The app reads message headers and content to find unsubscribe links, then groups senders locally. Metadata and short previews are saved on your Mac.

Unsubscribe for real

Select senders and go. The app tries an available opt-out method and reports the result, with labeling and archiving for processed messages.

features

Everything you need to win your inbox back

Built for people who are done with newsletters they never signed up for.

Bulk unsubscribe

Tick a hundred senders, hit one button, and walk away. EmailTamer works through them all at once.

Sender status

See which senders are kept, unsubscribed, attempted, or need another look.

Subscription stats

See volume by month, your worst offenders, send frequency, and how much cleaner your inbox is getting.

Multi-account

Connect Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, and Yahoo side by side. Clean every inbox from one place.

Sender rules

Use rules to keep senders or mark them for cleanup when you scan. Review the resulting statuses in the app.

Streaks & confetti

Unsubscribing should feel good. Build streaks, unlock achievements, and watch the confetti fly.

Themes & dark mode

Make it yours with multiple themes, including a deep dark mode that's easy on late-night inbox sessions.

Keyboard shortcuts

Power through your list without touching the mouse. Built for people who live at the keyboard.

Auto label & archive

Cleared senders get an "unsubscribed-by-me" label, are archived out of your inbox, and marked read — automatically.

the whole point

Never hand a company you've never met the keys to your inbox.

EmailTamer processes your mailbox on your Mac. Connecting an account authorizes direct access to your provider; unsubscribing contacts the sender’s opt-out destination. We have no cloud backend that reads your inbox.

questions

Frequently asked

Does the app upload my inbox to AppStart?
No. The app processes your mailbox locally. It connects directly to your provider and contacts unsubscribe destinations when you initiate an opt-out. The privacy policy explains the data flow.
How does unsubscribing work?
The app tries the sender’s one-click endpoint, sends a mailto opt-out email, or visits an unsubscribe page. It reports the outcome; a sender’s future behavior cannot be guaranteed.
Which email providers does the app integrate with?
Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, and Yahoo. Gmail and Outlook use provider sign-in; Yahoo uses an app password. Availability depends on provider setup and approval.
Is my data sold or used to train AI?
No. The app does not upload mailbox data to AppStart, sell it, or use it to train AI. Unsubscribe matching is deterministic.
How do I disconnect an account?
Remove the account in the app to delete its active local records. Separately revoke the provider authorization in your provider’s account settings. See the privacy policy for storage and backup details.
When can I download it?
The next macOS early-access build is being prepared and verified. Contact support@appstart.one for availability. Windows is planned.
